When Creative Suite 6 arrived last year, there came with it a new way to buy Adobe software that the world had not seen before: the Creative Cloud. Traditionally, most Adobe products have been sold with “perpetual” licensing that doesn’t expire. The flip side is that these best-in-class tools often come with a steep price tag that is out of reach for many customers – though there have always been discounts when upgrading from recent older releases, plus much lower pricing for some market segments like students and teacher.
That said, however, there is an online collaborative Cloud component enveloping it all which allows easy web-based file storage, sharing, browsing, and syncing between computers and devices. For those who don’t have a paid subscription, there is also a free level of Creative Cloud membership that provides the same community features but with 2GB of free storage instead of 20GB, but if you plan buys for the cloud team member, it will get 100GB free space.
Creative Cloud vs. CS6 – Which Is Right for You?
So there have been a lot of changes lately but with all these developments in mind, how do you decide which one to buy? The answer depends to a large extent on how you use the software, with these questions to ask:
> How long will you be using the products?
> How frequently do you usually [like to] upgrade?
> Which Adobe programs do you want or need to use now?
> Which tools would you like to expand to using in the future?
> How nice is it to always have the latest releases and best features?
> Do you own a prior product you can upgrade from, or would you buy full?
> What will your regular annual costs be when comparing the two different options?

Adobe sudah meluncurkan Creative Suite 6 (CS6) – dan salah satu pertanyaan pada umumnya adalah apa yang berbeda, atau apa yang berubah dalam CS6 dibandingkan dengan versi sebelumnya?
CS6 update hampir semua produk individu dari CS5, termasuk Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash Pro, InDesign / InCopy, Premiere Pro, After Effects, dan Audition Encore.
Dalam Adobe CS6 ada dua aplikasi baru yang diperkenalkan: Prelude CS6, video dan alat logging untuk membantu tag dan transcode rekaman dengan cepat, dan SpeedGrade CS6, grading sistem warna profesional yang membawa state-of-the-art, teknik warna untuk produksi video Anda. Kedua program diatas termasuk dalam Production Premium suite dan Master Collection suite. Sedangkan ada dua produk yang tidak ada di CS6 suite yaitu Flash catalyst dan Contribute, untuk produk Adobe soundbooth di versi cs6 menjadi Adobe Audition.
Saya akan mencoba menjabarkan secara singkat apa yang baru di dalam Adobe CS6 suite ini :
Photoshop CS6: new user interface (tampilan latar belakang dengan warna abu-abu gelap), Content-Aware move/patch/extend tools, new Camera Raw 7, background save and auto-recovery, Blur Gallery, redesigned vector and 3D engines, intuitive video editing, Skin tone–aware selections and masking, Improved auto-corrections.
Illustrator CS6: Fast Mercury Performance System for native 64-bit support on both Windows and Mac, new creative tools for pattern creation, image tracing, and gradients on strokes.

InDesign CS6: Content Collector tools, hot-linked content across pages, integration with Digital Publishing Suite, Alternate Layout, Liquid Layout, and other new tools efficiently adapt layouts to a myriad of page sizes, devices, and orientations.
Dreamweaver CS6: Fluid grid layout for cross-platform design, CSS3 transitions, HTML5 code rendering with Live View and Multiscreen Preview, enhanced jQuery Mobile and PhoneGap Build framework support, optimized FTP performance.
Fireworks CS6: New screen layout tools, jQuery Mobile theme skinning, CSS sprites from comps, CSS3 code extraction, improved color swatches, better redraw performance for Mac, improved memory management for Windows 64-bit systems.
Flash Professional CS6: Sprite sheet generation, CreateJS toolkit to output HTML5 ( fitur ini harus update sesudah instalasi , karena tidak disertakan di dalam flash saat instalasi pertama), access to platform- and device-specific capabilities, prepackaged Adobe AIR captive runtimes, mobile application interaction simulation.
Premiere Pro CS6: Uninterrupted playback, Warp Stabilizer effect, dynamic timeline trimming, expanded multicam editing, rolling shutter artifacts correction, adjustment layers, mercury engine support ( harus dilihat di website adobe untuk video card yang support menggunakan fitur ini ) dan masih banyak lagi.
After Effects CS6: Global Performance Cache, 3D camera tracker, ray-traced text and shape extrusion, new variable mask feathering, rolling shutter repair, enhanced integration with Illustrator ada penambahan effect baru.
Audition CS6: Real-time clip stretching, pitch and speed control, CD burning, parameter automation, control surface support, automatic speech alignment, clip grouping with group suspend, tone generation.
Encore CS6: 64-bit support for rock-solid performance, faster MPEG import with asynchronous processing.
Prelude CS6: Full or partial ingest, tag footage with searchable temporal metadata, transcode to many formats, heads-up logging, rough cut creation, thumbnail scrubbing, speech transcription notes, success write confirmation, fully customizable.
SpeedGrade CS6: Powerful layer-based color grading, GPU-accelerated performance, Lumetri Deep Color Engine, primary and secondary color correction, automatic scene detection, camera and color space matching, Adobe tool and workflow integration.
